Access:
Ngamba Island Trips can be arranged through on your behalf through G&C Tours. Your visit will not only be one of the highlights on your safari, it will also help to care for the chimps.
We have several boat options to get you to Ngamba Island.
1) A large modified Lake Victoria motorized Ssese canoe know as the traditinal boat (with built in seats and sun canopy and spare engine) for larger groups (seats 20 plus skipper) which provides a very economical option for Ngamba Island visits.
2) An Ace craft 6-meter sea going ski boat with single foam filled hull, powered by 2 X Mariner 60 HP outboard engines (seats 8 passengers plus skipper).
The meeting point for departures in Entebbe is outside UWEC (Zoo) where safe parking is available Boats leave from the pier a short walk from UWEC. Journey times approximately 45 minutes by speedboat or 90 minutes each way by traditional motorised boat.

Morning viewing 9.00am -1.00pm
Afternoon viewing 12.45pm- 5.00pm.
Traditional Motorised Boat - Full day trips
Morning viewing 8.00am -3.00pm
Afternoon viewing - 10.30am - 5.00pm
The boat ride to/from the Island is approximately 45 minutes (speedboat) and 1½ hours (traditional boat) depending on the weather. The island tour lasts about 1½ hours but can be extended if required. Overnight trips can also be arranged on request.
Independent camping on the Island is not permitted. Overnight stays on Ngamba Island can be arranged.
Accommodation Bulago Island:
Bulago Island is situated one mile south of the equator, close to both Kampala, and Entebbe International Airport. Bulago Island is reached either by our own motor launches (a 40 minute journey) from Munyonyo Resort or alternatively Entebbe Pier, or by light aircraft from Entebbe or Kajansi to the islands airfield (a 10 minute flight).
