Shaka Zulu is a larger than life figure in African history.Ascending to the throne of the Zulu Kingdom as a young man, Shaka Zulu’s exploits as a brave warrior using his trademark Assegai (short spear) won him accolades and despise. Accolades from his country men. Despise from neighbouring Kingdoms for his voracious appetite to expand his influence.In order to avoid becoming subjects of Shaka Zulu, inhabitants of neighbouring Kingdoms opted to migrate northwards. That was Mfekane – the great north migration.
