AAS-003; 06 DAYS SAMBURU/MT KENYA /MASAIMARA (FLIGHT
PACKAGE)
Day 01:Nairobi-Samburu
Transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to the countries
north. You will pass over lush farmlands and catch glimpses of the glaciered
slopes o Mt. Kenya before dropping down to the arid country of the North
and the Samburu Game Reserve.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to Larsen's Camp for a night
stay on a fully inclusive basis. All meals and 2 game drives are included.
Larsen's is a small and a very atmospheric tented Camp.
Day 02:Samburu
The guest enjoys a morning and late afternoon game viewing with a break
for lunch at the camp and an afternoon spent at leisure
Samburu is located north of the central mountains and the equator. This
fascinating arid reserve is home to Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe,
as well as Oryx, gerenuk, Somali ostrich and dik dik.
You will have an excellent chance of seeing lion, leopard, cheetah, and
elephant. Spectacular rocky outcrops, wonderful Domas palms and the shaded
Ewaso Nyiro River, the life source for the Samburu reserve, make this
reserve scenic.
Day
03: Samburu-Mt. Kenya Safari Club
Transfer to Samburu
airport for the scenic flight. On arrival you will be met and transferred
to the Mount Kenya Safari Club for your overnight stay. All meals are
included.
The club offers sweeping views across the plains to the majestic slopes
of the magnificent snow and glacier-capped Mt. Kenya - Africa's second
highest peak after Kilimanjaro.
Originally the retreat of movie star and club founder William Holden,
the club provides a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure.
Set in over 100 landscaped gardens the mood is one of quiet elegance.
The lavishly appointed dining rooms provide wonderful meals. A fine Golf
course and a heated swimming pool are on site whilst other activities
include: fishing, half-day trips to Mt. Kenya, nature walks, Chuka drummer
displays, animal orphanage visits, and breakfast by the river.
There are many things to do around Mt. Kenya, including hiking in the
foothills where waterfalls and wonderful views abound. Horse riding and
white water rafting can be arranged.
Day 04:Governor's
Camp Masai Mara
This morning you will
be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight from Nanyuki to
the Masai Mara. On arrival at the Mara's Kichwa Tembo airstrip you will
be met and transferred to Kichwa Tembo camp. Evening game drive after
which you retire for the day at the Kichwa Tembo for dinner followed by
Masai dances. All meals and activities are included.
Day 05:Masaimara
Morning game drive to catch the early risers like the big five' leopard,
lion, elephant. Rhino buffaloes. Other plains game can also be seen.
Return to the camp for a buffet lunch and the afternoon will be spent
at leisure.
Evening game viewing then return to the camp late evening for dinner and
overnight.
The Masai Mara is a unique area adjoining the great Serengeti plains,
which form part of the Serengeti plains national park - a 9,200 square
mile Wilderness of semi-arid grasslands and woodland in Tanzania's north
western quarter, home to some of the greatest numbers of wildlife on earth.
The Serengeti's pulse beats to the migration cycle as vast herds of wildebeest
and zebra surge up the plains in search of their hooves and the snarl
of the predators that follow them - truly one of the last great natural
wonders of the world.
Kichwa Tembo translate to 'Elephants head' and is a luxury-tented camp
at the edge of Mara situated at the foot of the oloololo escarpment. Stylish
tents set on permanent bases, each with shaded verandah, are set around
the fenced grounds. Each tent is comfortably furnished, with unsuited
bathroom. Fine cuisine is serve4d in the camps restaurant, which is complimented
by a well stocked bar. The relaxing pool affords magnificent views of
the surrounding plains, sprinkled with dark patches of woodland.
Day 06:Kichwa Tembo will transfer you to Kichwa Tembo airstrip
, for the flight to Nairobi.
